A fireplace is a formal way to enhance your patio area. Whether it’s used as a single sided fireplace for a formal outdoor living room setting or a unique double sided fireplace for a pool cabana area. Fireplaces can also have a built in pizza oven for that brick oven baker. Fireplaces can be installed with a gas starter (flute) that can be turned off once the wood has ignited, Gas log, or wood burning (no gas). There are remote starters for the gas fireplaces as well. Don’t forget the hearth and some woodboxes…..or maybe even an outdoor t.v. Either way it’s a beautiful way to accent your outdoor living space.
Fire pits can be used as a lower cost alternative to a fireplace. They can be installed into a patio or be stand alone somewhere in the yard. They can have a stone wall for seating or just use your comfy lawn chair. The advantage a fire pit has over a fireplace is it can be utilized 360 degrees around the area. They can vary in size and shape (round, square, rectangle). Several types of fire pits can be installed such as gas start (for wood burning without the matches and paper), gas log, or wood burning. There are even gas variety inserts that burn with colored stones. Remote start for those gas fireplaces? Sure, why not!
